I solve problems using math and software
I am currently a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and Associate Professor in Algebra at Durham University. I am leading the theme “Understanding ML Models” in the EPSRC funded Erlangen AI Hub.
My research interests are tropical geometry and algebraic geometry with special focus on algorithms and applications. I am the lead developer for tropical geometry of the computer algebra system OSCAR, and have contributed to Singular, Polymake, and Macaulay2.
